How do I know if I am a good candidate for a PRF?

How many platelet rich fibrin (PRF) treatments are required?

Treatments will vary based on your needs. Initially,

your provider may recommend several treatments

spaced one month apart. After the initial treatment,

many physicians suggest maintenance treatments

2-3 times per year.

How long does platelet rich fibrin treatment take?

A single treatment doesn’t take more than 20-25 min.

Does the platelet rich fibrin treatment hurt?

As there is no need for separating gel or anticoagulant, Arthrex has no burning sensation upon injection (pain free) However, a topical analgesic to minimize any potential discomfort, can be used. Talk to your Registered Nurse about the right option for you.

Is there any downtime or recovery period?

There is no downtime or long recovery process. You may take a warm shower the evening of the treatment. In addition, it is advised to avoid using any harsh dyes or chemicals on your hair for 48 hours.

When can I expect to see results?

Due to the natural variation in quality of Platelet-Rich

Fibrin, results will vary between individuals.

Although you may see a change after your first treatment, you will likely require a series of 3-6 sessions to obtain optimal clinical results and desired outcome.

Anticoagulant causes PRP to release all growth factors upon injection, Arthrex slowly releases growth factors for 7 to 10 days so the receiving receptors have time to respond.
